The adventure will begin early in the morning. First, we will pick you up from your hotel in the historic center of Cusco. Then, we will travel toward the charming village of Maras, located in the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas.
Upon arrival in Maras, we will feel the serenity of the Andes, surrounded by fresh air, open fields, and mountain views. Here, we will start a short walk alongside adorable llamas and alpacas, the noble animals that represent the Andean culture. We will walk about 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) along peaceful natural trails, guided by these gentle creatures while listening to birdsong and the whisper of the wind.
Next, we will reach the reception area, where local hosts will warmly welcome us. They will assign us a private picnic tent, beautifully decorated with traditional details and set in the middle of nature. From here, we will have a privileged view of Apu Verónica, one of the most sacred and majestic mountains in the region, rising 5,682 meters (18,642 feet) above sea level.
At our picnic table, we will enjoy a delicious selection of local products: cheese board, nuts, sourdough bread, fresh fruit, seasonal juice, hot beverages, water, coffee, and wine.
After lunch, we will have time to interact with the llamas, feed them, and take photos with them. We will learn about their care, their cultural importance, and their deep spiritual bond with the Andean people. This moment will remind us of the harmony between humans, animals, and nature.
