Detailed itinerary
Day 1:
Cusco – Pisac – Urubamba – Ollantaytambo – Chinchero
Day 1: Cusco – Pisac – Urubamba – Ollantaytambo – Chinchero
Start: 08:00 approx.
End: 18:00 approx.
08:00 AM: We will pick up all participants from their hotels in central Cusco. We will board our bus and start the journey through the Sacred Valley. Along the route, we will admire stunning Andean landscapes, rivers, and agricultural terraces.
08:30 AM: Our first stop will be the Taray viewpoint, a high spot with panoramic views of the Urubamba Valley. We will take photos, enjoy fresh mountain air, and admire the fertile valley. This viewpoint will give a first impression of the Sacred Valley’s scale and beauty.
09:30 AM: We will arrive in Pisac, where we will visit the artisan market. We will observe local crafts, textiles, and pottery made using centuries-old techniques. Afterward, we will hike to the Pisac archaeological site, located on a steep hill above the town. At the top, we will see the Inca cemetery, one of the oldest and largest in South America, surrounded by terraces and stone structures.
12:00 PM: Next, we will travel a short distance to Urubamba, where we will enjoy a buffet lunch (optional). We will taste traditional Andean dishes while resting and preparing for the next adventure. The valley below will offer excellent photo opportunities.
01:30 PM: After lunch, we will continue to Ollantaytambo, a town famous for its Inca ruins and perfectly aligned terraces. We will explore the archaeological site, marveling at the megalithic constructions that seem perfectly carved and fitted without mortar. We will walk through cobblestone streets, experiencing living Inca heritage still present in daily life.
03:30 PM: Our final stop will be Chinchero, known for its Inca ruins and vibrant textile market. We will watch local artisans demonstrate traditional weaving using natural dyes and ancient methods. We will explore terraces, Inca foundations, and the colonial church while enjoying the harmony of culture and landscape.
05:30 pm: We will board the bus and return to Cusco, arriving around 18:00 in the historic center. We will conclude the tour with unforgettable memories of the Sacred Valley, its history, and Andean culture.
