Detailed itinerary
Day 1:
Cusco – Challacancha – Soraypampa – Laguna Humantay – Sky Camp

We will start our adventure early in the morning at 5:00 AM. from Cusco. Our private transport will take us through scenic valleys toward Mollepata, located at 2,800 meters above sea level. There, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing to Challacancha, the starting point of our trek.
From Challacancha, we will begin a gradual hike surrounded by stunning Andean landscapes. The route will follow ancient Inca irrigation channels still used by local communities today. After a pleasant two-hour walk, we will arrive at Soraypampa at 3,900 meters above sea level. Here, our Sky Camp awaits us with breathtaking views of Salkantay and Humantay mountains.
After lunch and a short rest, we will continue our hike to the famous Humantay Lake. The path will ascend steadily for about 1.5 hours until reaching 4,200 meters above sea level. Once there, we will admire the lake’s turquoise waters reflecting the snowy peaks. We will take our time to connect with nature, take photos, and learn about the Andean legends of the Apus (sacred mountains).
As the afternoon light fades, we will return to Sky Camp for a warm dinner. The night will offer a perfect sky full of stars, ideal for stargazing and reflection. Our transparent domes will allow us to sleep under the celestial canopy in comfort and peace.

We will wake up early to a warm coca tea and a hearty breakfast. The day will begin with a scenic walk along the trail known as the “Path of the Seven Serpents”. This section will lead us to Salkantaypampa and then to the Salkantay Pass, the highest point of our journey at 4,650 meters above sea level.
We will stop at the pass to rest and take in the panoramic view of the snow-capped Salkantay Mountain, considered one of the most sacred peaks in the Andes. The crisp mountain air and dramatic scenery will make this moment unforgettable.
After enjoying the view, we will descend gently toward Soyrococha, where we will have time to rest and appreciate the landscape. Then, we will continue to Soraypampa, where a delicious lunch will await us at Sky Camp.
In the afternoon, we will take our return transport to Cusco. During the ride, we will enjoy the last glimpses of the Andean valleys through our windows. We will arrive at the city around 5:00 PM., marking the end of our unforgettable journey to Humantay Lake.
