We will start our adventure early in the morning from Cusco at 4:30 AM. Our private transport will take us through the southern valley of Cusco, passing traditional Andean villages and scenic farmland. After a 3-hour drive covering about 100 kilometers, we will reach the small community of Pacchanta. Pacchanta lies at 4,200 meters above sea level and serves as the main access point to the 7 lakes of Ausangate Mountain - Ausangate Mountain Peru.
At Pacchanta, we will enjoy a light Andean breakfast to prepare for our hike. Surrounded by the snow-capped peaks of the Vilcanota mountain range, we will start our walk towards the lakes. The trail will ascend gradually across beautiful alpine meadows where we will see herds of alpacas and llamas. The pure mountain air and the silence of nature will make the experience unforgettable.
We will visit each of the seven magnificent lakes during our trek. First, we will reach Otorongo Macho and Otorongo Hembra, two dark-colored twin lagoons surrounded by rocky landscapes. After lunch, we will relax in the Pacchanta hot springs, whose thermal waters are known for relieving muscle pain and improving circulation. Surrounded by the Ausangate massif, we will enjoy this perfect end to the trek.
