VACATIONS IN MACHU PICCHU

ITINERARY
Day 1 : Arrive Lima
You are picked up from the airport and transfered to your hotel and in
the afternoon a tour to visit the city and main plaza, cathedral,
museums and other sites. Will begin.
Day 2 : Cusco - City Tour Sacsayhuaman
Upon arrival at the airport, a host will meet and assist you in
transfering and registering you at your hotel. Morning is at your
leisure to adjust to the altitude. And tour to Cusco and its
archaeological sites. This afternoon's tour is to the oldest
continuously inhabited city in the western hemisphere, it includes
important landmarks of enchanting Cusco and the nearby ruins of Qenqo,
Pukapukara, Tambomachay as well as the Sacsayhuaman fortress. Once the
center of the Inca civilization, modern Cusco is a delightful
combination of Inca and colonial architecture. During the tour, you will
visit Cusco's Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church and the Plaza de Armas.
Day 3 : Pisac Indian Market and Ollantaytambo Fortress
Breakfast at your hotel. Morning departure for a drive through the
fertile country side to the colonial village of Pisac. During your visit
to the bustling market place you will have the opportunity to bargain
with the inhabitants for many different types of Peruvian handicrafts
and jewellery. After lunch, the tour continues to the village of
Ollantaytambo for a visit to its impressive Inca fortress. This tour can
also be provided the same day as your arrival in Cusco. (B, L)
Day 4 : Machu Picchu
Breakfast at your hotel. A Full-day excursion to Machu Picchu. An early
start for a train ride through the Sacred Valley of Urubamba to the
"Lost City of the Incas," Machu Picchu". Located at 8,200 feet above sea
level and hidden by mountains and semi-tropical jungles for 400 years,
was discovered by Hiram Bingham of Yale University in 1911. Guided tour
around the citadel upon arrival. All transfers are included. Lunch in
Machu Picchu. (B, L).
Day 5 : Cusco / Home
Breakfast at your hotel. Transfer from the hotel to the airport for your
departure.
